WOW! it only took 6 posts to get that response! LOL

I bought a new 2011 off the dealers lot 6 weeks ago. It has only 1100 miles on it. New warranty and everything. Odo reading of 200 miles when I got it home, so, yeah, I would consider that NEW.

Why? Is that ATF from the engine or what?

I wouldn't be too discouraged if I were you; stuff happens, and though I'm sure you are/were a bit annoyed it certainly wasn't a catastrophic failure or anything along those lines (pardon the pun).

After your first successful tow/camping trip you'll forgive her

If your tranny temp did not overheat your probably OK.

As a precationary step I would have the dealer flush the tranny and add new fluid if you think it might have ran low on fluid.

Let clarify "Flush" means flushing the trany with heated trans fluid. It's pretty much the best method to remove any old fluid and some of the metal particles and for alot of shops the standard way to change the trany fluid.

Good Luck...

Id' just fix the line and fill it to the full line... Shoot, when I rebuilt engines the auto had to be refilled... Not to worry about flushing, filters, radiator etc....

There's a problem with my responce? It may seem normal to you to have such a failure on a new truck, but it is not normal to me. People are paying huge amounts for a vehicle now a days, the manufactures should be making sure there are not these kind of problems.

2 pages of replies for a busted PS hose. Imagine if it had blown a turbo, or a head gasket, or a HPFP.....oh...wait...

Hey, just so all the haters know, I just recently had to repair a power steering hose on my 5 year old RAM too. Scandalous!

Still page 1 here! less clicks for those long broken frame threads

And I didn't see no report on the front drive shaft maintenance that was planned about the same time as the PS service I hate the lube part of the Ram front shaft. Hopefully that designer retired or got fired.
On the bright side its still working

Sleep well. No harm done. Pat yourself on the back for catching it before it had a chance to do any damage.
