I have a 1998 19' Coachmen catalina lite. This is my first camper and we have enjoyed it thus far (still a tent camper at heart). My question may sound dumb to some of you more experienced campers... sorry!
The back of the camper has a BAL stabilizer system that is a snap to use. There are no stabilizers in the front however. I thought this was in part to the trailer only weighing around 3300lbs. Do I need to put stabilizers in the front?
All help is greatly appreciated!

How steady is it when everyone is inside and moving around? I have a Puma 25RS that has four stabilizers. I had to tighten them every now and then this past weekend due to settling. I don't suppose it would hurt to install two in front.

It seems to be quite stable. Its just my wife, son, and dog. My wife and I are quite small combining for less than 300lb and the son is 7 months old. I just didn't know if this could be detrimental to my tongue jack, frame, etc...

My RV came with the rear stabilizers only. I looked at the fact that there are two wheels and two stabilizers rear of the wheels while at the front there is only the single wheel post. Back of the RV is really stable while the front did not look as stable. I told the dealer to include the front stabilizers a part of the deal and have not regretted it for one second. Trailer is a steady as a rock.
Does it "need it"? For me it did. You be the judge.

If it aint broke (well you know the rest). You are the only one who has to find it satisfactory and if you're happy, no need to put front stabs on.

If it is not firm and steady, I would add them.
Our first trailer was a 18 footer, and it came with them

If you need them, you could get something easy like these:

My 19' Skyline came with only rear stabilizers. I thought that's all it would need due to it's length. While it wasn't unbearably unstable, it still shook too much for my wife's taste. I put a couple of BAL scissors up front and now life is good. Best mod I've done so far.

I had a 1994 Coachmen Catalina Lite 241FK. It did not have any stabilizer jacks. I used a screw type one in each corner.
