I bet the price per night will go up. 175 pesos was a pretty good rate for a park as nice as that.

I see they are a developer. I hope they still intend to operate the RV Park. This is one of my favorite stopover points.

I am sure it will be developed into something that Makes more $$$ than a RV Park.. here in Mazatlan and Celestino there is to many sites so everyone starves... better to have a just few parks so they can making a profit and repairs / upgrades can be made..

That is OK for Celestino where there are many parks. I am currently working with a Mexican Tour operator to bring a caravan from western Canada/US down the west coast in spring 2013. Villas Onac was a definite possible destination for a long term beach stay. I have been looking for parks that can handle a 15 rig caravan without upsetting regulars. That would be self defeating for the park itself. If it works out I also hope to give a boost to Hotel Mirador in Huatabampito. they also suffered a decline this year. It has go to the point where we have get more people introduced to Rv'ing in Mexico if we want to have parks to stay in. That is why I am assisting in this. I figure many who do a caravan will go solo in future. That is nto the case with French Canadians, but I think it will be with English speaking ones.

Good news, they are planning to keep the RV Park & expand it to 61 full hookups. They also plan to add a restaurant. You can bet 175 pesos a night will soon be 250. As I mentioned in the above post, I am trying to get him some caravan business (English not French) to ensure they stay profitable. It is close to the top of the list for a long term stay one, proposed from western Canada. Only disadvantage is its distance from shopping. I sort of got roped into it, but I am only trying to facilitate not lead one. I have led caravans before & my wife hates doing it, but I would like to see something to give some of the parks a bit of a boost. I will warn on this forum if it comes off & Onac is on the list, so if dates conflict, everyone here who uses that place, has a chance to secure a waterfront site first.
SMN, the park is about 1/2 way down the road between Esquinalpa & Teacapan. About 100 km south of Mazatlan. One of the nicest ones on the west coast. Only disadvantage is its remoteness & access from the highway is a bit tricky as it is a one way gravel road.
You can see the beach in this video of my dog chasing crabs:

Here are a few photos:

Nice pool! Is it heated?
Yep, actually drove to all of these places---in the last eight years. Missed Rhode Island and New Jersey.

I don't think the pool is heated. Onac is a great campground on a beautiful beach. I've heard of developers lining the beaches of Teacapan with resorts, but realistically the area is too remote, too rural with not enough to do for the average tourist.
I'm glad that the Onac will continue as a campground; there's not many campgrounds like it anymore.
