I need to repair one corner of my 1995 Class C motorhome roof, it has serious rippling between the membrane and deck, I suspect water damage. I will likely have to replace a section of soft wood decking under the membrane in that corner as well. I would like to attempt the repair myself, but cant seem to find any detailed instructions on the internet. If you can you please point me to a video, manual or individual that can explain the repair process in detail and the correct materials to use, I would truly be grateful.

Thank you, that gave me a basic idea. Now all I need are abit more detailed instructions. (for example: how to correcly remove mouldings without damaging them, seperating membrane from deck without teaing it, correct way to piece in and seal and secure deck, correct products for my application etc.)
ok great..Im sure the senior RV's will have more advise.. as I have learned a lot just by reading.. Good luck hope you can repair and NOT have to replace...

Yes Thankyou. Had watched plenty on the internet prior to posting on rv.net Most turn out to be product ads. The others showed before/after pics but offered little in the way of technique and knowledge base.
With a roof leak, it is what you can not see that is the problem. Once you start to take things apart, be prepared to do a lot more work. I had a similar problem with my 5th. To make repair I had to remove side roof trim, front batten strip. Then peal back rubber. Replaced about 6 sq. ft. of roof board and one main roof joist. Also had to replace part of the ceiling, interior paneling and several studs in wall. Take your time, if there is damage inside, start there to see the extent of hidden damage. This will save opening roof as long a possible. Figure out a plan of how to repair. When relaying rubber roof, coat both sides of rubber and do not be skimpy on glue. If you have to replace studs or roof joist use deck screws to secure new members in place. I always drill a pilot hole in first member that way you get a tighter connection to second member. This was an old leak that happened before I got trailer, and when everything was apart, the main reason it leaked was very sloppy workmanship. If you need more information it is OK to contact me with a PM. On a previous trailer I replaced the entire roof including roof deck.
