We have a 2003 36' Pace Arrow. My husband is a big guy and we have found that him sitting on the same couch cushion it has started to compress. Is there any way to fix this other than buying a new couch. The couch is in excellent condition other than that, it is made of faux leather (white). Would maybe putting a board under the cushion help. He can't sit at the other end because he is unable to view the TV. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Easy fix. Contact a upholstery shop and have them put in new foam. You probably need a heavier density foam like memory foam.

We bought our unit used. Someone had slept on the couch constantly and the cushions showed it. Not wanting to replace the couch we had an upholstery shop replace the foam. Now hold on to your hat. We checked with several shops and ended up paying close to $100.00 per cushion for high density foam. It appears, good latex foam is expensive. 3 cushions later and we had half the price of a new couch. Actually, we are not sorry we did it. The cushions are nice a firm and will not sag as long as we have the trailer.

It would help if we knew what type of couch or sofa you have. If the cushions are removable as in a sofa bed, then new foam may solve the problem as long as the framework under the cushions is OK. If it is a jacknife sofa, it will probably need to be rebuilt or replaced. A piece of 3/8" plywood under the cushion may also help.

It is a jack knife sofa so I don't think the cushions are removable.

I built two custom couches in my coach that had storage underneath. I had an upholstery shop do the 5" thick cushions with memory foam. Big mistake. The memory foam was great to lay down on and take a nap, but the cushions quickly flattened out when sitting on them, even tho this was firm memory foam. Since the surface under the cushions was rigid plywood, I went with a firmer foam, that was not memory foam. Much better to sit on and still comfortable to lay on.

Find a upolstery shop and have them build a quality 1 piece cushion with springs padding etc to fit the couch. They can build in a firm base such as plywood if that is required. If it a jack knife sofa of course through this out the window and have individual cushions built that are better than any foam.
