I'd invite you up for a visit, but I don't have the sparks or the feet needed to park you. I have a place on the river in an old RV park (20 AMP ONLY), and my 28' 'C' just barely fits. I'm guessing you need the most part of 40'? I stay in a TT permanently parked and hooked up there. My 'C' doesn't go there much.
There IS however a park close by, Chalk Creek Campground... private RV park. Big is not a problem there. Also there is a KOA IIRC upstream at Johnson's Village,,,2 miles south of Buena Vista. Unlimited Boondocking opportunities in the Arkansas River Valley if you are so inclined, that even a Coach like yours can get to,,(slowly as the roads are a bit rough). Hot springs at both BV and Mt Princeton, close by.
Lakes in the area are Clear Lake, Twin Lakes, and Turquoise Lake (up by Leadville). The Arkansas River Headwaters are above Leadville. Don't know if you want to leave the city or not but I sure prefer it up there. Feel free to email me if you want to talk further. I see lots of notes about things to see around Denver and Colorado Springs, which are lovely areas, but for my money, Durango is the place to go. Ride the steam railroad, which makes a daily trip up the canyon. Go to Mesa Verde, a short drive away and see the Indian cliff dwellings; fascinating.
You can also go up to the Purgatory ski area, which I am told is beautiful in summer, although I have only been there during ski season. (Great place to ski, BTW) We stayed in Alpen Rose RV Park, which was wonderful and meets all your requirements. Enjoy your trip!

I used to work for the department of redundancy department, formerly.
He is from MN so Durango would be alot of extra driving hours. I would assume he is seeing someone if he is wanting to be in the Den/Co Springs area. If he is not meeting anyone there are many better area's to stay in a RV while in CO.
Need to second the suggestion to come to Durango. In addition to Alpen Rose, which is a very nice CG, there is also Durango Riverside CG (the old KOA North) on the north end of the Animas Valley. It sits right on the river and after a scramble down the banking, you can fly fish from your site! Great views, too. Ask for a riverside site. Also, there is Blue Spruce RV Resort in Vallecito (25 miles east of Durango), set in, you guessed it, blue spruce at the foot of the Weminuche Wilderness and near great reservoir fishing/boating and fast water fly fishing. You can't go wrong wherever you stay, but those two are our favorites. We live here, but we also rent our house in the summer and go camping, sometimes in our own backyard!
A few years ago we stayed at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resorts. We toured around Canon City, Cripple Creek, & Colorado Springs. They have one of the best web sites I seen for a campground.
cheyenne mountain state park is beautiful, closer to the city, and fairly recently renovated.
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.
Clear Creek RV Park, downtown Golden, CO. Right on the river, lots to do, walking distance to restaurants and nightlife, but secluded RV park on the river. Easy drive to Denver and lots of easy day trips in the area.

it's possible you could get into Cheyenne Mt SP during the week but weekends during the summer book up close to 6 mos in advance...check on Chatfield or Cherry Creek SP's in Denver for availability--there are plenty of private CG's on the front range in case the SP's are full...
