We will be traveling in Colorado at the end of June- July and looking for places to visit and good campgrounds to stay at. Any recommendations appreciated!! Must be pet friendly campgrounds.

Rocky Mountain National Park is just north of Denver. It is a beautiful place to visit. The town of Estes Park has rv parks that can handle your rig and it is immediately outside the southeast entrance to the park. Have a great trip.

Mueller State Park west of Co Springs is fantastic. Probably booked on weekends though. You might want to try Chatfield State Park if in Denver.

2nd the state parks. You need reservations as they are tough to get into, but they are really nice.

Chatfield Might be a bit easier, as there are more full hookup sites now. They've done some major work over there in the last 2-3 years.

Cherry creek state park is another one in Denver.

Are you staying down by the Interstate or do you have other intentions and desires as to what you want to see and do? When I'm in town I'm 5 min or so from Chatfield, so I never go there.

In the summer I spend most of my time 2 hours south and west of Denver, on the Arkansas River. It's below the Collegiate Mtn range. Zip 81236 for mapping purposes. It's almost straight west of Colorado Springs. Don't know if you want to go up the hill or not though.
