I've got a 1996 Tiffin Allegro, and recently we had some really bad storms. The awning fabric was essentially blown off, and today I noticed a weird flaking on the outer edge of the roof.
I've searched the forums here, and I'm not sure how to go about correcting the issue.
Here are a couple of pics:

Do I need a new roof? Do I need to patch it? What's my best option, and what ballpark am I looking at to fix it?
I'm a relative noob to RVing, and any help would be appreciated.

For now I'd patch it...clean the area well and stick some eternal one tape to it perhaps a few strips of 6 inch wide stuff...
New roof, I'd say expect a new roof in the future, but do a decent inspection of the roof first, perhaps the repair will be good enough for a few more years

Looks like someone has coated it with something at onetime or another, probably because there may have been a leak issue before. I would clean/preasurewash it and get all of the loose stuff off and recoat with something else. It will not be to long before you need a new roof unless you coat it with a good product.

Go on "you tube", check for rv roof repair, edmp roof.. rv rubber roof..several videos of roof replacement. even on thees forums or the rubber roof manufactures sites. i think one or two guys could renew the roof in a day. also look for videos of Eternabond tape. you will want to remove the putty around the sky lite and replace with Eternabond.
My opinion is worth what you payed for it, maybe less.

The roof EPDM is ROTTED. The complete EPDM rubber roof needs replaced. You will have a hard time trying to get a good repair as all other areas of the roof rubber are in the same condition. Doug

Complete sun damaged roof and accessories. The Rubber roof needs to be replaced completely.
Another reason I am a big proponent of ADCO covers...they might be tough for some to install, the payback is tremendous and the OP might not have to be doing a roof replacement.

I would not pressure wash it. A new roof is in your immediate future.

Im sure if I build a cannopy over my roof... itd make my 30yr shingles last 50yrs.
Its a cheap material roof to start and well past its service life.

Is that a rubber roof membrane or a coating that someone added over a fiberglass roof? The substance below looks like fiberglass.

@Pogoil, I'm not sure. I don't know how these things are typically made, but it does kind of look like another rubber coating below. My only other thought was that it might be some kind of fiberglass cap running down the edge where the side meets the roof.
