Hi, guys. I have a 2008 12 foot Jayco popup that the factory stickers are peeling on, so I took my heat gun (being very careful, of course) and removed them. The problem now is that they've left a sticky residue and I'm wondering what I can use to get rid of it without harming the gelcoat. Can I use lacquer thinner or varsol or do you think that it would harm the surface? Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Peanut butter works well on most things. Dunno about an RV finish, though.

Goo Gone, available at most hardware stores & WD40 worked good for me.

That's what I would use. Be sure to try a little in a non noticeable place first so your sure it isn't attacking the finish.

Also have used lighter fluid on stickers before on glass and metal. Might try that is a small test area. Wipe it down with a quick scrubbing action and follow with a wet cloth. Worked very well on my Starcraft popup which had Aluminum painted skin on the outside.

Regular Gasoline on a Rag will also work. Wear Rubber Gloves and don't breathe in the fumes. Also don't smoke while using this method.

I used mineral spirits available at most hardware stores. A little goes a long way. Removes the gum with just a little elbow grease and it leaves the siding nice and shiney.

Ditto Goo Gone! We used it to remove 3M mask glue on the front of our RV (after we heated and scraped the stuff off!)
