New to C2C. never used it. There are 2 parks in S.D. near Custer SP.
They are Good Neighbor Parks in the C2C system. Rushmore Shadows and Hart Ranch. Anyone been to either? Suggestions. Also, there is a Passport America campground in Hermosa, called Heartland. Anyone been there. I would like to stay at a nice doesn't have to be super, just clean level & central to Custer, Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, etc. Have 31' Class A. no tow. will need to rent a car.

We have stayed at Rushmore Shadows using our ROD. It was a week before the Sturgis Bike Rally and things were getting sort of hectic. Otherwise, I think it was an OK place to stay. Real convenient place to stay and visit the area.

We stayed at Hart Ranch several years ago and were disappointed. It was located close to Mt Rushmore but we didn't find it to be very clean. There was a lot of dog poo between our site & the restroom. You could say that's not Hart Ranch's fault, just lazy dog owners. Did you check rvparkreviews.com?

I did ck rvreviews.. both have pro's & cons. seems Rushmore Shadows has an open to the public$29.95 for 3 nites if you do a presentation. Reviews said lots of people do this just to stay cheap. I'm concerned I won't get a space at either in July on Good Neighbor Parks (C2C) 60 days ahead. I've never used this before a new member to C2C. so don't know if it really works or not during summer.

We stayed at Hart Ranch two years ago, we were very pleased with the park. We also did not find any of the objectionable objects others claim. As a C2C member we found Hart Ranch to be one of the nicest we have visited. Enjoy!

C2C website

In order to use C2C/GNP you have to make a reservation.
Go to website....register and then you can do a resort search, check availability, make reservations etc.
You will have to buy 'points' to use for your reservations.
1000 points equals $10
C2C affiliate CG's cost 1000 points per night
GNP affiliate CG's cost 1500 points per night.
You purchase points, make reservation and after your stay CG submits to C2C for payment.

Hart Ranch is a 'classic' C2C CG.......can stay up to 7 nights
Rushmore Shadows is a 'deluxe' C2C CG......can stay up to 14 nights (if you are C2C Deluxe member.....otherwise 7 nights)
Heartland RV Park & Cabins is a GNP.....7 nights

Hart Ranch is very nice but open area (Meadows)
Rushmore has lots of trees.....but some sites are not very level front to back
Heartland.....haven't stayed there

On Edit:
Quick check on availability
Hart Ranch (C2C).......July 1st thru 7th unavailable (Hart Ranch members only)
Rushmore Shadows (C2C).....July available
Heartland (GNP).....July 1st thru 7th unavailable
Three Flags RV Park (GNP)in Black Hawk 5 miles N/W of Rapid City....July available

'Availability' as of now.

Old Biscuit.... will be arriving on July 9th. how do you check for availability? Believe I can make reservations 60 days ahead. Waiting for my C2C card & info package.
Will be hooking up with family at Heartland RV park in Hermosa on July 11th so it's just for 2 nites. If I stayed @ Heart can I go to Rushmore say on 11th or 15th if avail as they are near each other?

Heartland is a PA.. Passport America park. I have never joined PA but my family does its $40 a yr. 50% off. so I don't think the parks are shall we say... nice. although the reviews are mixed and so-so.

Like I stated in my post...

In order to get the discounted rate and use the affiliate 'Member' CG's you have to make a reservation thru the C2C website.

You can have multiple reservations.......
