Do you drink and cook with the water in your TT ? Yes we do and even the campgrounds water supply. I have never gotten sick from drinking water. When I was young we got our water out of a spring behind our house. Yes, I am a mountain boy from Virginia. I try to keep our fresh water tank clean and sanitized, no problems. DW did want me to stock some bottle water though so she could have some when needed.
We avoid bottled water for obvious reasons. Consider getting an undercounter three stage filter with a UV addition for all your drinking water needs and then just use the tank water. We have travelled all the Canadian provinces, about half the US States and most of the 31 Mexican States and rarely buy bottled water. Just a matter of adapting the right procedures and habits.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but rather by the moments that take our breath away.
...We flush and sanitize the system every Spring, but only use the water for washing and doing dishes.
Seems silly to me. If anything is in that water and you rinse dishes with it, guess what, you consume it next time you eat from that dish. Better use your bottled water for washing dishes. Uh, oh, human skin is the largest organ of your body, it absorbs whatever is on the surface. You better bathe in your bottled water also.
We use bottled water for drinking, cooking and brushing teeth. The main reason is that in a season we attach to so many water sources and any one could contaminate the system.
How can you be sure the bottled water isn't contaminated? It might be coming from the same water system as the tap water.
It may not effect you until it has set in your tank at outside temperature for weeks. Opinions?
In case you haven't considered it, there is no new water being made. It is all recycled and there is the same amount of water on the earth as there was on day one. Yesterdays urine is tomorrows drinking water. Don't over think water safety.
My sentiments exactly!
The only things I buy in bottles is beer, wine, and cola.
But, wait, the beer I usually buy comes in cans.
bottled water? DW might buy one now and then, but get a case or more to carry in the RV? No, no way, never!

Well, I’ve been camping for almost 50 years and always drink the local water with no ill effects whatsoever. I, of course, sanitize my tank but I don’t use filters, bottled water or additives. The only water I’ve avoided is down in Mexico, I wouldn’t even eat food washed in it, like salads. Only a couple of times in my life have I seen anyone get sick and they wondered if it was the water. I really think not, we were short of water and they washed their dishes with soap and used a minimum of water to rinse them. That residual soap scum will make you sick. When I was backpacking water was critical and sometimes I used sand to clean the dishes, but never soap.
