Some folks saved for them, some folks sold their S&B, some folks can't afford their's. It's a personal choice and some folks after working hard just decided to try the life style. There are lots of folks that can afford them and a lot that can afford used ones. We happen to have an older rig, we travel a lot by RV, four wheeler and even airplane so our money goes to pay for those things. The DGKs travel with us and that gets expensive. If I wanted a new rig I could buy one and cut out the other things but we like our rig and can live together in it for 3 or 4 months at a time so why upgrade?
I've been envious of some rigs but they are usually from our size to 31' and both A's and C's, don't look at anything over a 2005. Just work hard and you too can afford to have a loooong road trip with what you own and still have money left over to eat out when you want.

we bought ours second hand, 5 years old at the time, low mileage, good condition in and out.
it helps that DH is a very handy mechanic and repairman of all things.
but we've not had any major trouble.

it is what it is. no 2 people will ever have the same financial situation. yours is yours, and others can buy what they want, finance it how they want and best advice is stop wondering about it
wondering about it takes up valuable time you could be thinking about more interesting aspects of life
1) someone has more than you
and
2) you have more than someone
Even folks who have the same earning have different priorities for their resources.
Taking the time to try and figure out someone else's story is time consuming. I'd rather spend my time camping/boating/skiing/hiking/throwing frisbee... Just about anything but worrying about it.
Similar to other posters, someone is looking at you wondering "how the heck do they have so much money to afford that?".
Many times I've had people comment on my "big" camper - it is a 21 footer! I just say thanks.
I know guys who don't have much money, but pour whatever extra they have into a sportfishing boat which they keep immaculate.
I know some retired people who worked their rear end off their whole life - 2 or 3 jobs at once - always bought used vehicles, lived in very small and simple houses, paid for their kids education, and when they retired they bought a huge Class A. More power to them!
I know of more than a few people who had fancy cars, big houses, huge RVs, and then left town under the cloud of bankruptcy, never to be heard from again.

Hmmmmmm...... I looked at our budget, then went to find the biggest and most comfortable coach we could buy within that limit. We ended up with our 2003 Executive and are thrilled with it. DW & I spend 7 months (April thru Oct) in it and if it weren't as roomy and comfortable as it is, we would be home in our S&B house all year.
Different strokes for different folks. For US, a small TT just would not cut it for long term use. If we're happy with our choice and you're happy with yours, what else really matters?
