Quality of build, classic styling, timeless design, oh, and quality of build. I love my KZ, but it's no airstream.
2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, 5.7L Hemi 4x4. 2010 KZ Coyote CL232SS. Perfect for our Mountain Bike and Kayak adventures!
My work tow vehicle is a group of 16 cylinder General Motors diesels rated to tow around 14,000 TONS. I don't need no weight police!

Mostly mystique today. In the past (pre Thor) Airstreams were considered the Cadillac of RV's for their fit, finish, and legendary durability. The biggest problem with them is the total lack of interior space. I can still remember some friends once bought a 25 foot Airstream, upgrading from a 17 foot regular trailer. They parked them side by side to make it easier to move stuff. After a couple of hours the Airsream was jammed full, and the poor little 17 footer still had piles of stuff inside.

Nope, I've been looking at them at the last several RV shows and it sure isn't quality or materials.
A local dealer that sells all brands used said they leak just as much as any other brand too.

Our Airstream is now 45 years old and still on the road. Reason enough.

They are by far the best on the market. They each go thru hurican force driven water coming from all directions to check for any leaks for 30-45 minutes, before any interior components are installed. They hold their value longer than most TT's last. No rubber roof to need contant maint. The drawback little less space, very exspensive, but if I could afford one I would get it in a skinny minute.

Just an interesting note...
On the Travel Channel they had a piece on Airstreams. They said 70% of all Airstreams built are still in use. That says something.
The curved roof, although more aerodynamic, cuts down on alot of the overhead storage space. I like them, just can't find one that fits my needs or my wallet.

Special to some.
I can appreciate that people do like them but everyone has their own preference to what fits them. I personally felt as the few Airstreams I toured did not fit us. They felt too cramped and sterile for my tastes. Again, it's great some people like them, just not me.
