If you can catch it on your return trip from wherever, October and especially November/December are gorgeous months to visit. We've visited in all seasons but our favoite was there in one November and the bright yellow cottonwoods were brilliant against the blue skies. Also, less people at those times and the temps were perfect. You're right, it will be very hot 4 weeks from now.

Big Bend is on the stop at list for this years big trip however we are having second thoughts. Looks like we will get there about the end of May. I see it is up in the 90s already. Wondering what it will be in 4 weeks time?

The cat in the photo is a bobcat (Lynx rufus) that ranges from Oaxaca, Mexico to southern Canada. A lynx (Lynx canadensis) is larger and ranges from the northern USA through Canada and Alaska.
