Read our travel log. Link is in my signature.

If I were to start again I would probably use Blogger rather than typepad. I think that Blogger is now easier to use.

Used to use Wordpress but I found Travellers Point last year, nice free blog site geared toward travel. Easy to get started and easy to use:

Most people use Blogger but Travellers Point, which is a new one to me,looks very good especially since it's geared towards travelers.

Here's a link to a bunch of RV travel blogs - http://www.hitchitch.com/links.html Look through them to see how everyone has set up their blogs. You can do a lot of customizing. Post as often as you feel like.

Here are the Alaska posts our blog - http://rollinginarv-wheelchairtraveling.blogspot.com/search/label/ALASKA

Alaska is beautiful. You'll have a great time!

I like Blogger -- check out my links, below. There may be better blog sites available, but I have not looked into them. Blogger is free and it is fairly easy to use -- there is a minor learning curve. Play around with it till you feel comfortable with the formatting and with uploading pictures.

One suggestion -- I discovered that if I tried to upload my pictures to the blog in their original size, it took a while. And then when folks would click on the pictures, they would be slow to load. So I used Picasa Web Albums to edit copies of my photos to reduce file size -- instead of uploading 3 megabyte files, I export them at a lower quality and they take up only 300 KB. I can't tell the difference between the originals and the edited files.

I like Blogger, but I also post to a website at my own domain. There are advantages to both; blogger is easier but creating a website from scratch gives you more flexibility.

One blogging site not mentioned that a number of RVers use is My Trip Journal. It provides the ability to create a map of your travels.

You might also want to download Windows Live Writer http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windo........ive/essentials-other-programs?SignedIn=1 With Live Writer you can compose your blog post along with photographs on your computer even if you don't have access to the internet. This is very useful when traveling in Alaska. When you have internet access you can post several days worth of travel stories. It works with most of the popular blog providers.

I think I'd warn people off Picassa..I sure don't like it anyway. It sux up your pic file without you knowing and then others can access them. If you use Facebook or some of the bloggin sites...man, it's freakin sneaky.

I use Blogger...and no matter which you finally end up on, it's a fun thing to do. With Blogger, you 'could' generate some income, It's not easy to actually create a Blog that people read and then click on to ads, but it's a thought.

We use My Trip Journal for journals of our trips. If you want to have a private site for only friends and family you can pay an annual fee and password protect it. What I like about it is being able to create a map of your trip and individual entries for each location.

I also use Blogger for campground reviews. The link is in my signature.

Have a great trip!!!
