J sterchi, I have the same 3950 Epic 2012 model and I'm looking at the front storage door and I don't see how it can hit the awning arms. Is yours installed straight?
I think the quality of the Voltage is fine. Keep in mind these are built by a company trying to make money. They are mass produced and they are keeping weight in mind... (mine is 15878 lbs. empty!) To keep the costs "low" and do the "volume/quantity" sales approach, they do have to cheap some things, especially behind the scenes. Otherwise, they would be cost prohibitive for many including me.
They are, after all, a "house" rolling down the road. Lots of different systems that all need to work. They are mechanical and will have some issues, even fresh off the factory floor. A reputable dealer will do a good inspection prior to you purchasing the unit.

There should be 2 of those gas cylenders on that front storage door that will only let that door go up to a 45deg angle. If you are missing those and your door goes straight up next to the outside wall, it will interfeer with the awing arm. Sounds like someone is missing some parts for that storage door.

I just checked mine. Mine will not come up high enough to hit. But, if the installer installed the mount on the door just a little too close to the hinge, it could come up high enough to hit.

We still like our 3200 epic even though it is in the shop for the fourth time for leaks and slide issues. Dealer has replaced main slide motors and now replacing front slide controller because it will not retract all the way. Most of the leaks came from quality control issues, techs found sheered screws along the slides letting water in. The carpet was moldy at delivery so we knew it had been leaking for awhile. The floor plan fit our needs perfectly and I live in the unit during the week. Everything else has worked great, just the annoying leaks have to go.

We found an 18" piece of 14/2 electrical cable on top of one slide and a piece of rubber weatherstripping that wasn't fastened. Correcting those problems fixed both our leaks. _I_ found them - the factory should have.

I was so mad they finely said they would fix and order new compartment door it was damaged also not a good start with this toy hauler, hope we will get to camp in it some day,if we ever get it fixed.

I know exactly what J Sterchi is talking about!! Because it happened to my 2013 3950 Epic with Full Paint. I retracted the awning forgetting to close the compartment door first located directly below the arm. It bent the carefree eclipse arm and broke the composite piece and now I'm trying to replace this costly arm and have it shipped to Canada. It cost $850 for one or $1200 for a pair....Yeesh! Personally, I feel it is a design issue and wish I came across this post earlier and learned from reading it than by experience.
