In the past we have always stayed at Frontiertown & really liked it. This year we are considering Castaways instead. Has anyone been to both? How do they compare? We are thinking that Castaways might be more adult-minded. We are a senior-citizen couple, traveling without children.

Don't be too open-minded, your brain could fall out!

If you have kids stick with Frontiertown, if no kids consider Castaways. We prefer Castaways because the Club Castaway area is super nice and has its own pool and very close to the crabbing piers. Castaways had two pools. I remember when Castaways was Eagles Nest, that place was a dive and I do not mean the swimming pool. Castaway’s is so much nicer. But if you have kids under age 16 they will miss Frontiertown and the water park.

Thanks, Mike. That's kinda the way I've been thinking. We do not have kids. Yes, we've camped at Eagles Nest. Many years ago it was nice but it sure did go downhill the last 5-6 years that it was open. We did drive into Castaways last year, it does look very nice. Thanks again.

weathershak, Island Resort is just a bit too far from Ocean City for us. We prefer a shorter drive to get to OC. Thanks anyway.

I would suggest booking Castaways ASAP if you decide to go there this summer. The place has become extremely popular and fills fast.

Ringer, I figured that it filled up rather quickly for the summer. But since we aren't controlled by work or school schedules we do our vacationing in the spring or fall. We prefer the much slower pace of the off season at campgrounds & beach towns.

We have been to both and prefer Castaways because we do not have kids, only a dog, and only Castaways has a dog beach. Castaways also has more 50 amp full hookup sites because every site is. Frontier Town seems older and more rustic, but water park great for kids.

going to frontier town for the first time this coming week so I cannot speak for them, however, we love castaways! Especially the private section, the beach is great, the tiki bar is nice just for a little something different and the shuttle to OC and Assateague really nice! But you def. need to call soon, we always have a hrd time getting in!
