I just don't understand people feeling threatened by an engine. I mean really people, it's an engine, in a truck. If you don't like it, I suggest not buying one, and skip over the posts talking about it.

This is like getting angry because concrete is hard!

I mean seriously, can someone explain to me why the Ecoboost causes so much emotion in people who aren't interested in one?

Your choice in TV is like your choice in RV. Who cares what you have as long as you enjoy it and it gets the job done for you. By the way I am 55 yrs old and never owned a Ford until now that I have my F150 EB. Love it, love it.!!

Many believe it is because the old theory of "bigger is better", "there is no substitute for cubic inches", has been dumped by the wayside.

Think it's bad here, go to one of the F150 forums. It's where EGO Boost is running rampid.

Lighten up folks, it is only a pickup truck. I was being a little facetious about the sticky thing. The thing that makes it interesting is that people think they are getting a 8200 pound GVWR F-150 when they find an EcoBoost under the hood. (Most are not) The EcoBoost gets 18-20 mpg empty on the highway and about 10 mpg towing, which is what most small block gas engines average.

And where do you get your information from?

From the Ford advertisements that mention EcoBoost, F-150, and over 11,000 pounds towing capacity in the same advertisement. Not lying, and no more misleading than other ads.

You don't have to get the 8,200 pound GVWR to get the 11000 pound tow rating.
