You don't have to get the 8,200 pound GVWR to get the 11000 pound tow rating.

I know that you don't "have to", but when you put all the numbers together, tongue weight, passengers, and cargo that most of us carry with us, don't you think you "should" if you are going to tow over 11,000 pounds of camper? I would want the Max payload as well as any other Max options for towing that much, but that is just me.

As someone said " Ecoboost" is an example of great marketing. Ford isn''t the first to combine direct injection with turbocharging but they are the first to put it in a pickup. It will be interesting to see how it works out for towing because it is a great way to power a vehicle.

Actually for a 10,000 camper, you need a 3/4 ton.

If I was pulling a 10,000 boat, I'd still consider the Ecoboost. But the reality is that likely less than half of new F-150's will actually pull a trailer with any regularity, even fewer a trailer that will actually 'work' the truck, and even fewer 10,000 pound campers. I think we're safe!

Embarrassing the competition? I'm not seeing that.

The EB a good engine? So far so good. Better than the competition? No.

Each engine offered in all of the 1/2 tonners are doing just what their designers need them to do.
I'm figuring you must not have seen this video.

How come they only campare the Ecoboost to the 5.3L Chevy (obvious underdog) and the Dodge that has the giant gap between 1st and 2nd gear? Notice how the Dodge is gaining ground at the end of the run?? Why didn't Ford have all MFG offerings??

All? Do you realize how many configurations you're asking for?

The ecoboost has proven itself time and time again in EVERY publication known to man. The only real question left is if it will be durable and last over a couple hundred thousand miles.

What should they have compared the Ecoboost to? Perhaps a Freight train? a golf shoe? Very small rocks?

Have you seen Toyota and Nissan full size sales numbers? A distant 5th and 6th place. At some point you have to stop handing out Trophy's.

Perhaps I needed to be more clear so EVERYONE can understand. Compare it to the other MFG offerings with same trim level, 1/2 ton, same drive configuration, all have a box on the rear axle...OK??

I don't give a******about sales numbers either....my point is where are the other trucks in the comparison? Already up the hill waiting?

Ya...F150...Motor Trend Truck of the Year...but everyone agrees on this forum that doesn't mean much because so was the Honda Ridgeline...right??

dude... It's a truck. Ease up or you might give yourself a coronary. Anyone who considers the titan competition might want to look up the definition.
