Here in Newfoundland there are mant phrases and sayings. That are easily misunderstood by non-locals. When something is on backwards (ie a shirt) it's on with "the hinder part before".

Or friend often says "everybody has each a one", meaning each person has one of an item.

He would have lead the race but his pants were full of lead. If he would have read the race instructions he would have been okay but he couldn't read.
