I constructed a 7-pin plug-in adapter using a mating 7-pin connector from AutoZone and an inline fuse. I trimmed the excess plastic from the connector... connected the fuse holder’s leads to the correct pins… the fuse hangs out the back.

I connect the adapter when I want the running lights on, but I like the idea of putting in a fused switch. I will probably find the parts in my left-over box and do something like that in the future.

I think the lights are cool... others may not. I have left them on all night when I've forgotten to remove the adapter, but I try to disconnect it before bed... and turn off the rope lights.

If camping at a "dark" campground... there's usually no power hookup. In these cases, there's no need to waste my battery power lighting up my rig... and apparently annoying others.

I have photos of the construction of my adapter... if someone is interested, I'll post them to this thread.

Happy Camping!
John.
