72 and stay at home.....and do what exactly???
Bingo, cards, watch TV nothing of the kind will replace RVing.
If you are healthy and willing to go on RVing do not give up.

I just bought my class 'c' and I'm 76. I've driven it from Ala to NH and then down to FL. The wife loves it..We just take our time and make no commitments.

I am older than you and no one tells me what to sell or buy or whatever !! Make your own decisions . That what the Wife and I do. Married 54 years
I would agree with you but in this case there may be more to the story.
It would be interesting to hear the wife's reasoning. Are there health issues not mentioned?
Money problems? etc, etc....
I know we are all different but myself being 76 don't think it is time yet to hang it up. We still get a lot of enjoyment from the motor home. If you miss it that bad go buy another and enjoy life. There is a lot of good buys out there.

If you are able to do the things needed to clean and maintain the rig, prepare for trips, drive safely, operate the rig while camping, and clean it up afterward, you should keep on RV'ing, however, if your wife doesn't enjoy RV'ing anymore due to health, sleeping problems or other reasons, that's a different matter. She may enjoy touring via car and sleeping in hotels and motels more at this stage of her life.
I messed up my 73 year old back, again, getting ready to go camping last week, cancelled the trip, and need to see a bone doctor. If I can get my back to normal pain levels, I'll be able to continue RV'ing despite pain from lack of cartilege in both knees. Thank heavens for mobility scooters. My wife is in somewhat better shape for now. Those old grinning geezes that run marathons at 80 get on my nerves.

Snap out of that low feeling! By reading what other camping equipment you have it doesn't sound like you will have to quit camping. At 73 I thought we were thru with the fever so sold our 5th wheel & the ton dually diesel we pulled it with. The rest of the story is - we soon realized we enjoyed traveling too much to hang it up. So at 75 years of age we bought a new smaller trailer that we can pull with our 1/2 ton Chevy p/up.
This coming Wed we leave out for a two month trip visiting the wife's siblings in IN, grandchildren in OH, daughter in IL & cousin's in WI
X-2, just tell her, if she doesn't want to go, she can set at home & watch soap operas. What are you going to do just sitting at home, just veggitate & be miserable?
