Do the relatively inexpensive battery powered fans make it through a whole sleep night on one set of batteries? I'm talking about the ones that use D Cells.
I normally tent camp where there is electricity, but I have a two night one in July without electricity and was thinking of the battery fans. For two nights, I don't mind using a complete set of batteries each night, if they'll last a whole night.

You can wire up the fan to run from house batteries. High speed just takes 0.6 amps.
What I use.

The one I have will easily run through the night on one set of batteries. It's the one Walmart sells, something like O2Cool.

Do not believe tyme4toplay has house batteries in the tent.
I would think they should run 4-6 hours or so, long enough to fall asleep and the batteries die off in the middle of the night.

Thanks. The O2Cool or something similar is what I had in mind. Sounds like it will work just fine. Like Tmm2Good said, even if it runs out before the night's over, by then it won't matter.
So, it sounds like this will work ok for the short term.

What about something like the Ryobi battery powered fan that uses cordless tool batteries? It only makes a lot of sense if you already have Ryobi cordless batteries.

O2Cool from Walmart. Make camping nights in hot days more enjoyable. It lasts all nights long for me just on one set of battery easily.
I've no house in the city, just a camping tent in the wild.

Coleman makes a free standing fan that runs up to 21 hours on 4 D batteries. You can order it online for $15.

I have one of these Coleman Zephyr ceiling
and two of these Coleman Zephyr Window
All have ran for 5-6 nights on a set of batteries. I don't even bring extras for them anymore. Just a new set at home every couple of trips. I've used the ceiling one for 8 years and the window ones for 5 years. Not a single problem other than they're heavy and for car camping only. I even use the window version ones in the TT. Enjoy.
