Just another newbie question that sounds kind of dumb but how do ya know if ya don't ask ? When camping at the campground that has cable tv does the campground supply the coaxil cable or do we bring one with us ? Don't want to look completely dumb, but as I said....how can you find out if you don't ask. Thanks all in advance !!

Hi trixie,

You have to have the cable wire yourself to hook up to their connectoe and your rv or camper....

At least 25 feet of cable. Sometimes your connector is a long way away.

You take it. Stop at a Radio Shack and pick one up. I suggest getting the most flexible one they have. Mine is grey and the connectors are gold plated. Better connection and will last longer. 25' minimum.
Lowes, Walmart etc. have them too.
By the way, the only dumb questions are the ones you don't ask.

Yup - good question. DH has two lengths - a short one and a long one.

I would pick up two of these 25-foot cable just in case you need one longer. Walmart and Lowes also carry these cable sets.

These cable will have these F-type connectors on both ends.

I would also get a couple of these F-type double female connectos and put in a drawer in the trailer. These adapters will extend your two 25-foot length cable together if you need to get something longer.

Another useful adapter is to get one of these two-way splitters and a short F-type male to male cable. We have connected this type splitter to the cable connections at the camp ground pedstal and run one 25-foot cable the CABLE TV connector on the trailer. Then we connect the second 25-foot cable from the other port of this splitter and run under the trailer to the patio area under the awning to allow us to move our portable TV outside and watch it sitting around the patio area... This is kinda fun to do sometimes as well...

I carry about 50' of cable and splitter and connection. In 3 years only used it once. We tend to not go to private campgrounds and if we want to catch the news we have the Jack on the roof.

One of the dumb things that I used to do was disconnect both ends of the cable and coiling it for storage as we prepared for departure. Finally it dawned on me that I could keep the cable connected to my rv by coiling it and keeping it secure with a small bungee cord. It saves me a little time while setting up or packing to leave.
