We are planning a trip to Front Royal camp ground later this year. Just wondering if anyone has been there. It would be my wife and 3 year old and 1 year old.

I have called this place a bunch of times and no one ever picks up. It than says the answering machine is full and can not take any more messages.
Good luck.

Last review on www.rvparkreviews.com was Oct 2011 and it wasn't good. Maybe they closed? They do have an email address on their website.

Have never stayed there but we have stayed a number of times at North Fork Resort in Front Royal. It is a Coast to Coast park but also takes Passport America as well as other guests.
We are booked in May.

It's sort of a weird place. Went from really nice to pretty cruddy. The pool and waterslide were closed, the picnic tables were all getting old and rotten, the sewer hookups overflowed. That was 3 years ago.
However it is a very nice location. Real close to the entrance to Skyline Drive and Skyline Caverns. Can't figure out why it went so far downhill.

I asked the same question on another forum. Shenendoah River State park seems to be the way to go. Almost new facilities nestled in the best locale compared to some of the other spots I looked at. Heading there next weekend so I can provide a fresh review.

Shenendoah River State Park is a beautiful park. Was just there two weekends ago. Here are a few pics from our trip.

Went 7/4/10. Apparently went from a KOA to a family owned place. The office was closed when they went to clean the restrooms. Bears were constantly in the dumpsters. The pool looked okay-people were in it. The water slide had obviously been condemed awhile ago.
We haven't been back as there are other places we like close to that location e.g. Jellystone.

Thanks everone. I will most likely not go there. I heard they allow alcohol there now. I don't know if this is factual or not but if its family owned they may allow it.
