A couple of days ago Telcel Banda Ancha began timing out. Sometimes I'd be able to be online for only a minute before the time out happened.
The only way to get online again, is to disconnect then immediately reconnect.
These time outs have happened in different locations. So, its not a problem with a certain cell tower. I am in the State of Queretaro. Both the City of Queretaro and City of Tequisquiapan.
I found out what caused the time out on my Telcel Banda Ancha modem stick.
It was the use of a USB extension cable. Mine is only 18" long. But when I use this extension cable, Telcel internet drops out. When I do not use the extension cable, I stay online forever!
When I used the MF100 modem it dropped out all the time. When I took advantage of their sale and bought a MF180 modem it never drops out with or without an extension cable.
Ours disconnects intermittently. We could have good signal and it just quits. The signal strength constantly varies (oxymoron?). I shut down the program and unplug the stick - start the program - plug the stick back in. Some areas it works great and other areas it is spotty. No idea why or what to do about it.
