Keep the sense of humor! Sorry it all of that happened to you in one day, but at least you got an education! Usually it is one each of those incidents per trip... gee, ask me how I know? Just when you remember ALL of those, there will be a new one to add to the list.. after 20 years of RVing something new still comes up each trip to me. Many happy trails and we all provide entertainment at one time or another.

Well I don't like it but it seems the last few outings we have been on a tight sheduls and couldn't depart till a certain date so I have done 745 miles in one day but was a bucket of jello after that day but I would say I average 500 miles a day, I am trying to reduce that but I drove truck for a living so its hard to get that out of my system.

I many moons ago did a 17 hour drive to get to san diego, but it was just the truck, no fifth wheel then.

113 day trip starting next week covering approx 10,000 miles. An easy average per day on actual travel days.

I think everyone has hoses which have been too short by a few feet on at least one occasion. If there is any doubt now the hose or power cable is brought out before the siting & leveling commences.

Depends.

By myself I will drive 13-14hrs, towing or not. Pull into a parking lot and sleep. Then get up and go again. Have done 700miles in one day towing the fiver. I do tend to make a lot of stops during the day.

I am not retired and have limited vacation time so each day is valuable.

With the wife and dog we'll do 400-500mi in a day when towing. Relaxed driving

One day time won't be as important and we'll slow down a bit

We will normally do @ 8/10 hours on the road but we stop alot, fuel, pit stops, etc.. will be in a CG before dark.whatever miles fit into that 8/10 hours is what we do.

I left Princeton In and drove to lake Tawakoni TX witch is close to Emory Tx. That was a bad move that I will never do again. It took me 3 days to get back to power. I thank 400 miles if the weather is good is safe.

Wow! Great story! We have yet to do an extended trip in a fifth wheel, but towing our boat from Washington State to Lake Powell in Utah, we consider 400 miles about the daily limit. But that is just covering the miles to get there and back. With our Alpenlite in Omak, the trip from the storage yard to the Stampede Grounds RV Park is about 4 miles when we arrive, and the same when we tuck 'er in when we leave. With the Fox Mountain, we are limited to 3-4 day camping trips, so we favor state or county parks within an hour or two from Fall City. I will have to revisit this topic when we retire! I am guessing we will be out to smell the coffee along the way, not to cover the miles!

Better the last few days. Been doing 625 miles per day since our bad night at the KOA. Weather has been good on highway 40. Lots of stops but fiver pulls great. Thanks everyone for putting up with my stories and giving great advice!
