Heck, I know a couple who had their vent cover break up and the rig was closer to four HOURS old.... Of course there is a bit more to the story than I just typed (like the big metal pipe that crashed down on it, after tearing the TV antenna off the roof)
They pulled into a parking structure you see. though the ceiling was high enough, the pipe on chains that announce the height,,,, hung lower.

I was lucky, mine lasted 20 years and I found out before a trip with the grandkids and replaced them. On the trip one of the covers blew open, the cause, the little plastic roller on the end of the control arm was in little pieces on the screen. Look closly when replacing plastic parts at adjacent parts for sun rot.
