Hi all--really like RMP on the fiberglas surface of the motorhome! Wondering if anyone has tried it on painted metal surfaces like automotive-type finish on an aluminum bodied motorhome with full-body paint?

First, full bodied paint jobs already have a clear coat finish on them and really don't need another clear coat of RPM.
I've used RPM on my white gel coat MH and have used it on the painted basement doors and it looks as good there and has held up now for the last year and a half just as well as the gel coat area. I keep thinking I need to touch up or add another coat because of the age since the initial application but in the areas I've tested with another coat, I can't see any real difference. Red Max rocks.

I applied 4 coats of RMP last summer to my 1990 Coachman 5ver(painted aluminum)and it came out like new,I also applied it right over any decals/stripping on the rig and they too came back to life. That was 10 months ago and it still looks great. As an added benefit any black streaks I get come off with Windex and a paper towel...really...that easy!

I wouldnt do it on the sides... but the front and back I would.
RMP has solids in it so it will protect the paint better than conventional waxes. Added caveat is its a breeze to maintain.

I used it on a 1976 tractor and 1980 PU truck OK.

Warning: put it on in very very thin layers and I would limit it to three. I would give each one an hour to dry on a sunny 80+F temps day. It can haze if put on heavy and in cold temps but TSP will strip it faster than you can put it on if needed.

I wouldn't do painted surfaces. I did the bottom section of our entry door that was painted and I don't like the looks. It isn't smooth and you can tell it's on there. I did get a hint that using a cloth baby diaper (new one) and wringing it out thoroughly will smoothly apply the RMP. I also did the painted black door lock mechanism and it has already come off. The white sections look great (after a thorough prep job) after almost a year. My 2cents.

I put it on a black painted surface on the front of the rig. The paint was not holding up and needed something. It looks absolutely beautiful.
