We are in a 36ft 2010 Fleetwood Fiesta traveling north and want to spend a week in Santa Barbara. The comments on Sunrise RV downtown are pretty negative, has anybody in a large RV stsayed there? The other RV parks (we want full hook up for a week) are at least 20 minutes out of town. Any recommendations ? Thanks.

You might want to investigate Cachuma Lake County Park which is located just above Santa Barbara. Beautiful area with nice campgrounds, full or partial hookups. It is not a bad drive from there into Santa Barbara or the other way into Santa Ynez, Solvang or Buellton.

Hi Fred,

SB is our hometown but unfortunately doesn't have great RV parks in the city.

For a weekend away we go to:

Ocean Mesa : This is 20 mins north of SB

Lake Cachuma : This is 30 mins off Hwy 101 in the Santa Ynez valley. The full hookup sites are parking lot style. They have partial hookups (no sewer) which are much nicer.
