each month, what do you do? I've tried Craigslist for tech work but that's been very disappointing so far. I'd rather not commit to a campground to work lots of hours at minimum wage or less. Trying to find part time work in the nearest town is usually easier said than done, especially if you're just passing through. If any of you are in a similar financial position, I'd love to hear some ideas.

I case you haven't seen the news for the past few years, unemployment is high. There are not many high paying positions unfilled at this time. If you have highly, and I do mean highly, specialized skills then you may be able find a position within your field by visiting the forums and chat rooms associated with that specialized field. In tech, there are often special projects headed by project managers that hire specific talent temporarily. Those positions will require you to go where the job is, they won't be available where most traditional full timers wish to be. If you want to be in the tourist areas or the snowbird areas, your employment will most likely be limited to the minimum wage positions. It is purely a matter of supply and demand.

I do very well selling small, lightweight easy to ship items on eBay. Print postage online & drop in the nearest mailbox.

some companies like Home Depot and Amazon hire part time temp workers (might be seasonal). Not much above min. but better companies. Maybe ask the campground manager or hosts?

Have you tried a temp service like Manpower? I understand what you mean about longish commitments for lowish pay. I wouldn't mind working for minimum wage if I didn't have to stick around for six months to do it.
Good luck!

We earn money two ways (links included so you can read on your own - no need to retype)
1. workamping - and you can find short-term gigs
2. We restring blinds - both in parks and mail-in.
Feel free to PM with any questions on either. Good luck!

I don't know if your looking for tech work only or not. But you might try running an ad on Craigs list yourself advertising your services or that your looking for work.If your handy around the house and are looking primarily in one place handyman services usually do well.
My buddy has a small business as do I and we hire day workers that way he pays $100 for a 5-7 hr day and I pay $15-$20 hr.
