I don't believe you can make multiple posts in different forums.
I put it here since "the toy hauler" group spends countless days in "snake territory". Especially in the South Western states.
Thanks for posting it here, Bob. I never would have seen it in the RV Pet Stop forum. I'm afraid I don't spend too much time there.

I can't ever remember reading the "pet section", hence my decision to post here. I know lots of Us have "family members" of the four legged style (I have a friend with a 3 legged version), and would hate to read about losing one due to a snake bite, we just came closer than I ever wanted to be.

I would NOT want to hear/read about any ones pet getting tangled up with a poisonous snake.

Bob I did find a class here in Eastern WA. What many folks don't know is Eastern WA is desert country, similar to the SoCal area. We're in a core area for the Northern Pacific Rattlesnake, so very happy you posted this. Oddly enough one guy that does trainings suspended classes since the State wants him to get a permit to keep a live Rattlesnake - he could kill all he wanted. Sounds like even the Game Wardens thought it was a bit odd. Thanks again!

I have not been to that side of the State, but have a brother who was in the Army many years ago and spend alot of time in the Desert up there.

Most of the classes around here are 65-75 bucks per dog and you need reservations cause they fill up !!
check with any hunt clubs in the area you may find info there.
Our class is in the hills near lake Elsinore in the "high end homes" area, mostly 5-10 acre lots with many horses and prime snake country.
Another class is in Norco, a hunt club location. Bass Pro shops has had classes as well.
Good Luck, My $150 class bill has paid for itself already, not to mention how I would feel if things had not went as well as they did.

I wish everyone would get their dogs the snake shots. 2 shots the first year about 3 or 4 weeks apart, then a booster every year. Well worth the money.

It's OK with me to post on the Pet Stop. We've had a few threads and many swear by the avoidance training.
I practice in an area where we don't get snake bites, so I've never seen one.
My understanding is that the vaccine does not eliminate the need for treatment after a bite, just makes the bite less likely to be fatal and recovery time less.
Glad your guys had the training and are OK.
