The snakes are going to be bad this year in Texas. My boy almost got in a battle with a big one down by the lake. He wanted to play with it. YIKES!

Nice pics there Hawk

Thats what We were worried about, dogs are curious and will stroll right up to a snake and then its too late.
Mine spend a few weekends in the Dez during "Snake season" so it was money well spent on the training. Most of Our trips are in the cooler months and snakes are not an issue.

Glad Your pup is safe

A buddy from Fla. came for a visit and a desert camping trip. We harvested a large rattler, cleaned it, skinned it, and put it in the refrigerator for a lunch the next day. When we took it out of the refer and it started to warm, it coiled.........

I have a cat I'd like to tie up in the back yard as an early warning system. I don't know why I ever agreed to have a cat in the house.

What a lovely thing to say.

The thread is staying here. The Pet Forum mod allowed him to cross post the information over there tool However, because a large number of our crowd, Toy Hauler owners, camp in the desert and back country I think it's a good reminder for all of us.
