I also hope you kept the tire because GY paid for all my repairs 3 times. We have GY 114 "H" now...

Pat at Pro Tires in Denton TX recommended B F Goodrich ST230's for our Class A to replace Toyos. We are very pleased with the choice. B F Goodrich is owned by Michelin. The tires were made in America. He worked on Prevost and Country Coach RV's to name a few. Came to our site and changed the tires, aligned and balanced, checked the ride height. Great service, fair price.

This is exactly what we just did too! Stuck with Goodyear 114's because GY is good about paying claims...but don't think we'll have to worry about that anymore. Oh,and by the way, the GY 114's have a capacity of 4,805 lbs per tire, not 4,700....

Well, we were coming home from a trip this past week and stopped for a rest. I looked at our tires and one Goodyear "g" tire was missing all the tread, just sidewalls and the steel belts left. Still had air pressure. Day was early and road cool and yes, I keep my rig weighed (I weigh every trip, annal I know but I like to know my weight as we full time in the rig). I am well under GY weight limit for maximum inflation, so I use their tire chart for inflation. I run 105# cold and have tire pressure monitors. After being on the road, the tire pressure goes up to 110 - 112 pounds. I had planned on replacing 2 of the tires after this trip, but now I had to get one new tire so I went ahead and bought the second one. Last year and the year before I had replaced the other 2 tires. One due to blowout, the other due to road hazard. I was in Hattiesburg,MS. on this trip and no tire was to be found. So I went to Jackson,MS. and was able to get 2 tires. My tire manufacture date was 2005, so I knew I needed to replace and that is why I was going to after this year. I called Goodyear and they did pro-rate the one bad tire but was hesitant since there is supposedly only a 4 year warranty and these tires were now 7 years old. In the future, my tires will get replaced at 4 years, period. As a side note, I previously ran 110# before the first blowout so I don't think my problems where inflation related.

I didn't know anyone else made load range g tires. I just replaced 2 in Demming, NM coming home (Texas) from Death Valley, CA a couple of weeks ago. They were 3 yrs old. The other 2 I had to replace in May because of a broken spring. Mine were wearing on the edges. I keep from 105 to 110 psi in them and they heat up to 130ish when traveling. In Demming I took the rig over to a frame shop to have the axle checked. The guy there said that he had seen a lot of g Goodyear tires and that mine were experiencing what he considered the normal wear pattern for the tire and that they should be replaced every 3 years. He suggested going to 17.5 inch tires.
My first set lasted about 3 yrs. I may change over in a couple of years. I don't want to change now because I've got basically a new set at about $400. a pop.

Exactly what I did to solve problem !! Ordered from these folks (trailer tires & wheels . com) Goodyear 17 1/2 H rated 114's (Commercial) mounted on 17 1/2 wheels.... perfect fit (" plug & play") & no more blowout worries. They will ship wheels & tires pre mounted as a package on a pallet nicely shrink wrapped. If drop shipped to a local business in your area, you can save $$ on shipping.

You may want to look at the Firestone Transforce, I use them on the truck and the 5th wheel.

G614 tires are blowing up?? I thought they were the cure all for cheap Chinese tires.Just purchased a new rig and paid extra for the G614 tires.
I would also be interested in the weight of the MS and the individual tire loads
We have our Montana weighed every Sept at our Fall rally by RVSEF and the first time we were weighed it was a eye opener.RVSEF documenttion indicates that @ 60% of Rv's weighed are over weight nationwide. We are long timers and run heavy. We have a hard time keeping below GVWR (RV) and GCWR.We have the pressure pro TMPS and keep a close eye on it. We also run 62/65MPH.
We are not happy to hear of G614 failures but the failures were on a much heavier unit..Could that be a factor???

Why don't you ask Goodyear Customer Service about this? It does seem like the G614 is not fool proof. Maybe 3750 pounds is pushing the limits of a 16" tire?

G614s were the cure for all my blowout worries on my previous trailer. I'm going to put them on my current rig when the Chinese tires wear out.
