Shady Lane is more than Quirky,I thought it was scary. Boron has a nice RV park. Best Mexican food in the area with extremely friendly owners down on the highway and a nice museum also. My vote would be for Boron. US Borax also has an intresting visitor center at the mine. Slow down and smell the roses.

Haven't camped at Peggy Sue's, but have enjoyed the ambiance of the '50s and '60s there many times. Lots of nostalgia for those of us who grew up during those years. We have always stayed at the Shady Lane RV park nearby. Never stayed more than one night, but it's a convenient place for us when returning from the coast back home to Oklahoma. Never had any problems there.

You can over night free at Stoddard Valley OHV area, get off at either Lenwood exit or Outlet Center Drive. This will place you far enought away from the interstate where the nosie won't be much of a problem and yet you'll be a short drive from the Outlet Mall area.

We were about three miles in, most overniters pull in just pasted the main entrance off Outlet Center for the night, during the week this place is pretty deserted.
