I knew a couple that were in the same situation. Over the course of a few years they evolved into a class A with toad for him and a small C with toad for her. When they were in the same area, the C was the office. They also had the flexibility to go to separate work sites and have full living facilities.

One of the earlier postings mentioned that the earlier smart cars were a little shorter. They are actually 4 inches shorter or pretty much bang in 8 feet long. They also came in about 300 pounds lighter or 250 pounds lighter for the diesel.
These smart cars were the 450 models as opposed to the current 451 models.
