Bacon!

Really?... In our house bacon and bacon grease is a staple!

I love bacon, but don't like to smell it all day. When we're camping, we cook it outside. I guess we could cook outside at home, but we just save it for a trip instead.

Sounds yummy, how do you make those?
The wife and daughter are s'mores fans!

Just toast your marshmallow (or burn it, depending on your preference), squish it between two cookies, and chomp it down!
No need for the Hershey bars....
The beauty of these cookies is that they're not only well-filled with the necessary chocolate, they're chewy yet substantial enough to "squish" the toasted marshmallow between two cookies.

My Granddaughter the Expert insists that the cookies should be sort of "preheated" by careful placement on a fireside rock while toasting the marshmallow- says this gets the chocolate well on its way to the proper melt stage...but she's a fanatic!

Hi All.

I guess we are odd-balls. As we don't buy anything special for any trips, Period.

We eat very healthy at home and while we Travel also. We also almost never eat out either. I'm a much better cook than most places have anyways.

I have been a Cheif, and a Full Servie Baker. So there is nothing that I can't fix myself that is better for us. We hardly use any salt either. And we don't eat Junk Food, Period.

So there is nothing special that we need to buy for any trips, that we don't already have on hand all the time anyways. We also don't Drink or Smoke either.

No trounle keeping Fuel in our Motorhomes Gas Tank. What we do really enjoy, is just about Perfect Health.

Thats what works for us anyways. May not be for everyone, but it sure is good for us. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

Something not particularly healthy if eaten in moderation, aint gonna be what kills us...

But good for you for sticking to healthy foods all the time. I know I don't, but it's in moderation so no shame in my game lol.

Interestingly enough though, a lot of the posts here just mentioned things like grapes and such that are not bad for you at all. I think the theme of the thread was just about things we might do when we camp that is a treat, just for camping. Even if that treat is still healthy. Even people who cook for themselves all the time and eat healthy often have something they do only when they camp, like a sort of ritual of sorts.

I Thought I was going to be the first to post wine, coolers, beer, little something something for the coffee around the campfire. It is a strange thing but we don't drink at home, just around that darn campfire...lol. I think once it becomes a retirement thing that will stop or we would be half snapped the rest of our lives.

That's us. We varely rarely partake unless we're camping.
But for camping it's vanilla rum for her and Crown for me.
