What is more important when adjusting a rear view camera -
- seeing the toad
or
- being able to see the traffic behind your MH
I just installed my camera and I now need to make the final adjustment to camera.

I'd think if adjusted properly you would see both. I know mine does. But, the main reason I have a rear camera is to watch the toad.

Primarily for the toad. Ours shows from the back bumper of the MH to about 1 car length behind the toad. I use the mirrors for the traffic.

I have mine adjusted to let me see what I can't see in the mirrors. Like the Tailgater Scum that ride the toad bumper. (So close you can't see them in the mirrors)
If your lens will allow you to just see the hitch (and the area behind the toad) then you have a great reference point when backing into camp site. If not, set it at a measured distance and remember how far you can back up before $$$.
Be sure that you don't set it too high as then you will find it looking at the sun and the cameras don't like that.

My original camera was good for watching the toad, but not very good at seeing traffic approaching from the back. When the monitor died, I bought a monitor with 3 inputs, ran 2 cables, and placed two camera's on the rear cap. Works well. The adjustable camera mentioned above would be a nice also.

Also, mine for some reason was set on "mirror image" and for two days I saw cars passing me on the right, fixed that problem when I got to my destination and read the book.

Mine is set to where the rear end of the toad is about center screen. And I can see past the toad to the horizon. Works well that way.

I have mine tilted down when rolling at speed on open highways so that I can see the hitch and cables. When in city traffic, toll booths etc... I tilt it up to see the traffic behind.
