Battery at 50% can mean two things. For some, it will mean the battery is half charged, for others it means it is half discharged. Only you know what it means to you.

Actaully at 50% your batteries are at about 12.05 volts. I try not to let my batteries get below 12.1 volts. I bought an inexpensive volt minder. You can set it to beep at what ever level you want.

1L243, You've got your decimal wrong. 50% is 12.06 volts not 12.5 which is 90% charge.

As far as knowing the battery state of charge, I pull out the old multimeter and measure it.

If the inverter comes with a control panel, it will read voltage.
