We have a 33' Country Coach (2004) with 2 slides and it's perfect. You can also find some older Foretravels at great prices. They made a 34'
Winnebago Journey made a 34' also. I would keep looking if a DP is what you really want. What do you mean by "a little pricey?" If you give us a price range that would be helpful. We had a Class A gas and traded it for a Class A DP. We are so glad we did.

It looks like, since I am looking at coaches in the 1998 to 2001 range, my best bet would be to wait until the "right" DP comes along.
I have found a few, but they seem to always be in Texas or Florida!
If you choose gas, and it happens to be a Ford chassis I would highly recommend going with a 99 or later chassis as they have a wider front track for better handling.
Good luck in your search..

If you see something you like and it's too pricey you can always go make an offer and see what happens. The worst they can do is be insulted and kick you off their property. I have found that people always think their stuff is worth way more than it really is and almost always over price it. They may be thinking it's worth $75,000, but when you offer them $45,000 they may realize it's the best deal they are going to get.

Seems like you are still deciding on DP vs Gas in general. Suggest you sit down and surf many of the DP vs Gas posts, and come up with your own decision on what is the right coach for your expected usage.
If gas, both the F53/V10 and Workhorse/8.1 chassis rigs will do you well. (Make sure the recall Brakes is done if a Workhorse.)
Another gas unit to consider, is the Workhorse UFO (8.1 in the rear). They come down to the 37' size.
If budget range is an issue, for both Gas or DP - drop years to meet budget, while still purchasing the best quality rig you can locate.
If used, condition, condition, condition and records, records, records - is what to look for.
If used, also retain budget to cover baseline maintenance items to make the rig 'your rig', and catch up on any needed updates and normal maintenance items. Start off with a 'I now know what I have baseline.'.

What is "a little pricey"?
Well, how about a 1999 Fleetwood 36 foot DP with 275 Cummins and one slide for $49,900 or thereabouts. The sales person said "Well, that is just the ASKING price, the owner might come down, make an offer!" (the unit is on consignment).
I also found a V-10 powered 1999 coach for $19,995. The salesman on the diesel also said "But it's a DIESEL!" So, is the Cummins worth $30K? Not to me, it isn't! Besides, for a LOT less than that I could convert my Tioga to diesel, either Cummins or Ford! That is not one of my favored ideas.
I have hopes of staying in the 20 to 25K range.
Yes, the DP is my ideal, preferably with ONE slide or no slide. I have seen them on the net listed by various dealers, but mostly in Texas or Florida. Even for the price I want, I don't choose to go THAT far to get one.
There is a Foretravel here in town for $25,000, but DW says it is ugly. So much for THAT!
I'll just sit back and wait.

We had a 05 34H Journey with a 350 CAT and loved the motor home. There are quite a few 34' Journeys out there and older models that are really nice MHs. Lots of carrying capacity with the larger engine and it was a really sweet driving coach. We only just changed to a 06 Horizon 40KD as we wanted more room the three slides provide especially the opposing living area slides. The 34H had lots of storage inside and out and with the 350 CAT it could tow up to 10K pounds of toad. If you drive a DP you'll never be happy with a gasser so don't test drive a DP unless you are serious about buying one. My FIL has a really nice 03 Adventurer 35U with the 8.1L vortex engine and has had really great luck with it and has traveled thru the Rockies with no problems. But the ride and quite of a DP is priceless!! Good Luck in your search!

Good choice. If you have a coach and enjoy it but would like to move up, sit tight until the unit that fits ALL your needs and wants becomes available. The worst thing to do is buy on impulse or worse, neighbor envy.
