We are leaving Vancouver Island and headed down to Washington to check out Camping World and Cabela's. We have never taken the ferry from Sidney to Anacortes. We are wondering if it is RV friendly.
Any comments? Thanks for your help

All are RV friendly. However due to traffic, you better have reservations or you could be sitting for a day or two until room for you.

I got a quote from BC Ferries today (TW/DB)..... $355.00 ea way for the family of four and the rig.

I've taken just about every ferry run from the Island to the mainland there is, each run has it's good points and bad points. The Anacortes ferry is a nice ride through the Gulf and San Juan Islands.
But no run is cheap

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

The Sidney - Anacortes route is very RV friendly. Check out the RV promotions on the WA State Ferries website. Prices are often reduced 50%. for RV's.

I wish BC Ferries would offer reduced rates for RV's...
Last week I got hosed $220.25 for my pickup and 25' TT.
And they are gonna sock it to me again tomorrow when I go back!

Sidney, B.C. to Anacortes
Fares collected in Sidney, B.C. are one-way through to Anacortes, but allow eastbound stop-offs in the San Juan Islands at no additional charge. Customers not sailing to Anacortes can purchase a round trip fare from Sidney to the San Juans.
Half Fare promotional fares apply to both recreational vehicles and buses. Commercial trucks are not included in the promotional fare. Canadian currency is not accepted at US Ports.

We are in Campbell River and we either go Sydney to Anacortes or Victoria to Port Angeles. The border crossings are super quick because of the line ups, and it's the only way to go compared to BC Ferries and the Peace Arch lineups.

RE border time:
When approaching any border crossing in the lower-mainland to Washington, always listen to AM-1130. They typically broadcast the crossing times every 10 minutes. Most of the time Peace Arch, well, is bad. The Truck Crossing or Alderwood are almost always quicker with the travel time.
Port Angeles is almost always quick, at one point I was crossing there so often the guards all knew me. More then once it was "why where you in Canada", "work", "OK, see you next time". "shure thing, bye"
