Hello all,
We are heading to New Orleans for Jazzfest and plan on stopping in Raleigh, NC for a few days. Using our usual methods (KOA/GS/Trailer Life Directories) we can't seem to find much for RV parks in the area. We are traveling in a 38" MOHO with a car in tow are looking for full a hookup campground and are really not interested in state parks. If fact "roughing it" for us means no Wi-Fi. Anything within 45 mins would be great.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

there is not much around Raleigh, the best you can probably do is the KOA in Smithfield, Right off of I-95 and within 45 mins of downtown raleigh

There is a campground near Chapel Hill that has full hookup. It is a little hard to find, be sure to call and they will give you better directions. We stayed there for two days in March. It is about 1 hour to downtown Raleigh. springhillpark.com (919) 967-4268.

Am currently staying at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. We are in the new section and it has 50 amp, water and sewer. There are no other amenities and no wifi -- am operating off of air card. The roads and pad are gravel. There is some grass in between. The sites are close together, but not a problem now as there aren't many here. For a new park, the sites should be more level, but we found a level one for us. They can handle big rigs -- there are a couple 45 footers in here. The price is right at $25 a night and it is a good location for exploring the research triangle area (UNC, NCSU, and Duke). It is working for us.

I'm pretty sure the fairgrounds in Raleigh has full hook-up RV sites.

Edited to add -- Here's a link with info.

I have stayed in the State Fair Grounds; and will be there again in 5 weeks. Two years ago it cost $25 a day. And they do have free WIFI.
We stay in the N.E. corner.

If you want a "nice" campground, I would suggest the Smithfield KOA. It is about 30 miles from Raleigh via an Interstate. There are many restaurants and shopping nearby, if that's important.
