The T145 Plus specs from Trojan Web site

6 VOLT battery
weight 72LBS

Will produce 25AMPS for 520 minutes (Thats over 8-1/2 hours)
Will produce 75AMPS for 145 minutes (Thats is almost 2-1/2 hours)

rated at 260AH

10-3/8 LONG
7-1/8 Wide
11-1/2 High

This is one nice battery from its specs...

I did find this on-line for the Energizer GC-2
6 VOLT battery

Will produce 25AMPS for 447 minutes
Will produce 75AMPS for 110 minutes

rated at 225AH

This one sounds alot like the TROJAN T105 model

Costco batteries are made by Johnson Controls.
They are a good battery for the money.

The specs speak for themselves. If Costco lasts half the years you are still money ahead on that.

Either can accidently get boiled dry or accidently left flat dead and sulfate just as easily.

I did and would still choose the Costco brand unless I absolutely needed the extra capacity.

I had some T145's, Trojan T105's have a higher reliability record and were listed on Trojans own web site with a longer warranty

if your really into getting Trojans get the 105's

If I was going with a substantial off the grid solar setup I'd get Trojans or another equivelant high end 6V. For the average camper, the Costco batteries are a good value.

I had 4-6 volt Costco batteries in a Class "C" that got used on a daily basis. Those batteries lasted 4 years until I sold the unit. My brother had 4 in his Class "A" that he lived in until he went into the hospital for 9 months. He was in Lake Havasu and I was in Michigan. His camper sat in dry storage but had electricity hooked for a battery tender. After his hospital stay, he had to replace all 4, just 6 months after he got back to his coach.

I have heard others that use their camper infrequently, with Costco batteries, don't get as much life out of them as people who use them often. It could be the that the batteries are not worked enough.

I went to Trojans on my subsequent units, because I no longer live out of my units and for the piece of mind after my brother's incident.

MrWizard's answer is right on the money. T-145's have acid starvation problem. Always did and probably always will.

Telephone advice is available at any golf pro shop at any major golf course. They are the CHEAPEST and MOST DEMANDING golf car battery consumers on the face of the earth.

Hi,

Going with solar means far less stress on the battery bank--assuming proper sizing--so I'd go with the Costco batteries.

Yep. No free lunch. Same size volume. Something has to give. If you have money, don't care about longevity and just want to cram the most capacity per the given space... then go with T-145s or what-have-you.

Now Gramps,

I was thinking they might also have less sludge capacity in the bottom too. No?

Or do they do it with thinner plates, or...?

And back to the OP...

I have been unable to find it, but I did a survey a few moons ago on the Costco GC2s. The overwhelming majority of posters reported excellent results, often with 7-10 year on 'em and still going strong.

Wiz was one of those. He's a full timer that cycles to around 50% or so... pretty much every day. I believe he reported many, many cycles out of his.

I have seen no data to show that a T-105 will last twice as long as the Costco/Sam's GC2.

Cheers,
Kendall
