Beef up the hitch, lose the spare and excess fuel, and use aux brakes. Should be good to go.

Expensive for sure. This is ordering it from roadmaster thru camping world and having them install it plus the tail/brake light wiring.

I have a 2011 Ford v10 22,500 pounder with 22.5 tires and pull my trailblazer. It is not a Work Horse but I do know it is back there when we go through the mountains.

I used to tow my Grand Cherokee with a P32 Workhorse. No problems but I haven't spent much time in the mountains. Under normal driving conditions it was never a problem. I use an Even Brake system and haven't had any braking issues. The Jeep's gone now. Replaced it with a GMC Terrain. Not as much fun but much better mileage.

My BIL has a 33' Winnebago with the 8.1/4L80E and it does great, if you have the Allison that is just an added bonus. I fabricated a completely new hitch for mine as I did not like how the coach manufacturer had attached it and I beefed the hitch on my BIL's a little but it was probably ok to begin with, I just thought it should have had a little more gusseting.
Make sure to have a supplemental braking system as most gas chassis coaches' braking systems are adequate at best in my opinion. If you have to make an emergency stop you want a little more than just what the coach has to offer as far as braking.
Mike.
would you be so nice and describe what you did to beef the hitch up? I have a F53 chassis with the Frod V10, but due to unknown reasons, my hitch has a tow rating of 3500 lbs. It has a 2" receiver and I would like to get the tow rating up to about 500 lbs (to tow my Grand Cherokee, I checked with the MH manufacturer about hitch upgrading, but they refused to tell me. Thus it would be nice, if you could tell me what you did (pictures would be great) to strengthen your hitch.

You will be fine. My quad cab 4 wheel drive Dakota weighs, with a shell, 5100 pounds. Yes, I did have it weighed. I towed it several years with a F53 Ford Sea View with a 5000 pound hitch. The past five years I have been towing with a Freightliner Fred also with a 5000 pound hitch.
Although I don't/didn't break any speed records going up steep hills with either coach I am/was very satisfied with the performance. Keep your Brake Buddy.

When a Montana RV enters another state, it becomes a foreign vehicle in that state. The LLC "owner" may or may not be deemed to have entered the state. most states have a requirement that a foreign vehicle may only remain in the state for a certain period of time before it must be registered in some way in that state.
example: "Non-residents must register vehicle in Alabama within 30 days from date of entry, or expiration of previous tag, whichever comes first. Must have title application; certificate of title; or certification from the previous state that titles were not issued in that year. Then previous state registration must be produced. Vehicles must be inspected by the state unless owner is a college student or in the military. Vehicle must be in state."
or
"It is illegal for a person to operate a motor vehicle unless it has been properly registered for the current year in the state or county in which the person is a resident."
or
"A non-resident vehicle must be registered in California if the vehicle is based in California or primarily used in California; a vehicle is considered to be primarily used in California if it is operated or located in the state for a greater amount of time than it is located or operated in any other jurisdiction."
or
"Non-residents may operate a vehicle in the District for 30 continuous days before registering and can extend that period for an additional 180 days by paying a fee."
or
"Every non-resident including any foreign corporation carrying on business within Illinois and owning and regularly operating in such business any motor vehicle, trailer, or semitrailer within this state in intrastate commerce, shall be required to register each such vehicle and pay the same fees as is required with reference to like vehicles owned by Illinois residents."
etc etc etc.
When the Montana LLC is the owner it is also the "non-resident" but the driver is still a resident of somewhere and so there are requirements that apply to the vehicle and others that apply to the driver. A Montana law office may know quite a bit about creating a Montana corporation, They may not know squat about the registration requirements of the remaining states. It is not enough to know Montana corporation law. You need to know what your own state will or will not require for a vehicle to operate there.

Weighed the GC today; 5000 lbs, so with less gas will be well under the limit.
Thanks to all of you for the helpful comments.

I've pulled one with our 35U and 35J (V10's) in the states and Mexico shown on our signature. Probably 60,000 miles including mountains in Mexico and bad roads. Never know the GC is there. No issues. No significant diff in gas mileage towing or not. I use a SMI Stay in Play brake controller. The weight/TOAD police will protest.
