Has anyone dealt with Campers Barn? They have lots in New York and Georgia. We found a fiver in New York and they offered to transport it down to their lot in GA (we live in FL) to make our trip to look at it much easier. None of the models we are looking for are currently available in FL or GA at this time. Very generous offer if we are only wanting to look at it and no deposit to boot. Any thoughts?

Never dealt with them but when I was looking for a 5er a couple of years ago we noticed that there were items missing from some new units, and damage. Evidently, they borrow parts from units on show to repair other units and then replace the part later. This practice turned me off.

Missing parts not bad, but damage would suggest the service dept wasn't capable of removing and replacing parts properly?!?! Business is business and make the customer happy. If there is a new display unit with a new recliner and the one in mine has a problem I would expect them to swap them, to make the sale more expediently. Its easy to explain why the other unit doesn't have one right now but one's on order. Now if they put the broken recliner in the other unit that would be bad.

I would not purchase from them unless I ordered a fresh unit and I got it in writing that is would be closed to the public. We went there several times and always found problems. One unit even had a broken step inside. We are talking new Double Tree fifth wheels here.

I was implying that if this problem was happening with a high end unit, then you could imagine what entry and mid-range units went through where there are greater demands. I did not purchase a DT, by the way.

OK, let's turn this discussion in another direction. What is the Camper's Barn like to deal with in terms of MSRP, vs their best sale price, the amount offered for trades, obtaining financing, follow-up service, etc. The model we are looking at is now one year old and still new, the 2013's are showigng up on lots. I can only assume that they want it off their lot. And yes, I know that the public has trudged through while on the lot and probably a show or two. I have walked through my share of new units at lots and shows.

I can deal with damage or missing parts, it is called no deal. I always ask that they prove that all of the appliances and systems work before I leave the lot. I check the roof and interior for any signs of leaks or damage and even the dates and wear on the tires.

Hey Scott I live about 30 min from them and have almost bought units from them twice. 1st time I ended up buying a unit from a private sale just because it was an unbelieveable deal. The second time their competator just beat them out by enough to make it worth it. I will say they were very helpfull both times and I would still look to them if they had a unit I was interested in. I know they recently were obtained by new owners and seem to be doing quite well even in this economy. Their dsplay lot is very large, clean and organized as well as their repair facility, although not sure of their GA. store. I hope this helps you out a bit. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me. Good Luck!!
