Assuming no other fuel system blockages, about 15 pulls on the cord should do it.

AFAIK there is no priming bulb for the honda. If your having trouble starting and getting it to run, based on your symptoms I suspect either the fuel is turned off, or the pilot jet is completely plugged so it won't start.

Three or four pulls should start a good working Honda. I guess you have opened the screw to drain/flush the bowl. That should prime it. A Honda ATV mechanic once told me that if I thought I'd cleaned a Jap carburetor, clean it again and once again. He was right. It doesn't take much to mess up these small orifices. That's why I use a small amount of Chevron Pro-Guard in all my small motors.. IMO..

Had a honda 20 hp engine that had an electronic fuel solenoid. When it went then it was like there was no fuel. Check the dealer.

The EU2000i has a small vacuum-powered fuel pump, since a portion of the fuel tank sits below the carburetor.
Since you've had the fuel system apart, the "prime" needs to be established again. While this can usually be done with a number of pulls on the recoil, the problem may be a air leak or other part of the carburetor that's not put together perfectly, and I do mean perfectly. One gasket, pin or screw out of place and the generator simply won't start.
Make sure the fuel tank is filled all the way with fresh fuel. Make sure the fuel valve / on/off switch is all the way ON. Pull the recoil 10+ times and loosen the drain screw on the float bowl to confirm fuel is getting to the carburetor.
