We've been camping for a few years. We started with a tiny 13 ft. TT and moved up to Belle. She is a 2010 Jayflight 22fb. I know she's not the ideal size for full timing but she's what we have to work with and we love her.
My question is, where is the best place to winter? I'm working on redecorating Belle and need somewhere to set up a sewing machine. She is just not big enough to make a quilt in.
We are on a budget so need to stay under $400.00 a month. But we are traveling with 3 dogs. Many places allow only 2 or charge per pet per day.
Belle is only a 3 season TT so it has to be warm.

Desert Trail RV Park, Tucson. Dogs no problem. 30 amp site less than $400. Great activities. On the edge of Tucson Mountain State Park so great hiking, biking. We snowbirded there for four years until we decided to move permanently to Green Valley, AZ, just below Tucson. The place fills up in the winter so you do need to reserve a site. Check their website.

But realize it does get cold in the winter. We have aBeaver Patriot...very good insulation and Aqua hot for heat. We had no problems but seen several trailers with frozen water. Daytime warms back up nicely. Fun place to be walking around meeting people.

There is always Florida. You'd have to search, but there are probably a few spots under $400. Lots of folks do the Rio Grande Valley too.
About the sewing. Take a screen tent and a table and set it up outside. Run an extension cord to the RV, and do your sewing outside.

Matagorda Bay Nature Park, Matagorda, TX. Their monthly rate last winter was a little over $400 but not much, with full hookups and no pet restrictions beyond the usual leash and cleanup rules. They were starting to install park wide wifi when I left there in January.
You have to call to get the monthly rate and make long term reservations. The online system won't work.

Although I personally don't like the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, it has two major advantages over any other place we've ever stayed:
1) I's the warmest winter location you'll find outside of south Florida.....in fact, it tends to be too warm for me much of the time.
2) I've seen some of the most inexpensive RV parks I've ever found throughout my travels. I actually ran across a few that were UNDER $200 per month. Granted, they aren't fancy resorts with pools and tennis courts, but they were well maintained and clean.
My main problem with the RGV is the congestion (it's basically one long, narrow big city) and the lack of lakes, streams and forests, but a lot of people love it.
If you have any interest in this area, you might want to PM pawatt, the moderator of the Snowbird forum. He's been wintering in the RGV for years, and knows the area well and loves it there. He might be able to point you in the right direction.

We stayed in Zephyrhills Florida for around $400 a month. I kept up with the weather in Texas and AZ all last winter and it was too cold for me. Florida had an exceptionally warm winter this winter, but I believe it's normally warmer than Az or Tx and not as windy.
