You can get a lot of information and comments if you go to fortfiends.net. Everyone one there loves camping at the fort and they are a great bunch of people.

I'd move there if I could afford to...

We enjoy it... Only 2 1/2 hr drive for us...we go at least 4 or 5 times a year...

If you have bikes...bring 'em... If you like to fish, bring a rod... If you have kids...you might think about bringing them too. Ours are grown and working...so we're waiting for our Granddaughter to get old enough to really enjoy the park.

Just double checking, you mean Disney World's Fort Wilderness? I don't know if Disney Land has a campground.

We've been to Fort Wilderness twice in the last 5 years. It is the best campground we've ever been to. It is a great way to visit Disney World - nothing like going to the Magic Kingdom by ferry boat!

Both times we went, we went in October which is one of the slow times for Disney World and also the least expensive. Having your camper at the Fort gives you a great place to relax in your own "house" after a busy day. If you don't have your own showers, the bathrooms and showers at the Fort have always been spotless (and recently remodeled) when we've been there. The Fort itself provides a ton of entertainment, from kids events throughout the day to movies at night, and of course watching the fireworks and the moving lake light show at night.

It is a great place.

When people ask about Fort Wilderness on the forum I always suggest they do a forum search on it. There's so many terrific threads regarding the Fort. You'll find all of the information you could ever want to find right here.

I would agree that the best site for info is Fort Fiends as already been posted.

Really? It's one of the top CG's in the country. Do your due diligence before making your reservations. As others have already suggested...

Stayed there in December for a week and we are on our way back again next week! We rented a golf cart last time, this time it's warm enough to take our bikes. Love it and all of the activities you can access from there by riding the ferry or taking a bus. Like others have said, there is lots of information here and on the fortfriends site.

We spend 5/6 weeks in Jan /Feb and try to go back for 4/5 weeks in the fall. Absolutely a great place to relax.

Also a member of Fort Fiends.
