In my case: the current Lincoln grills, some current Mazda grills, some current Ford Focus grills, current Nissan Juke , but, in my opinion, none of the above can compare to the ugly of the 1961 Plymouth. Google it if you don't know what that looks like. What's your opinion?

So, what's your point? In my opinion, there have been a lot of ugly cars and trucks, but it really has not affected me. I have more important issues to be concerned about.

There's never been a Cadillac, or a GMC, grille that I did not like. And, I don't recall a Chevy grille that I didn't like.
Ford has had MANY wonderful grilles, starting with the 1932.

You mean you can actually tell modern cars apart?
They all look alike to me...
I miss the days when we could tell the year and make of a vehicle at a glance!

The grille of the 2012 Ford Focus got me interested in it. I like it.

I'm thinkin' that you could put a Lexus "L" emblem on the rear door of most any SUV and no one would know the difference.

Computers design cars now, not people.
Program in the parameters like: desired mileage, federal standards and guidelines, etc....and they all come out looking identical.

Yessir, identical; various degrees of ugly.
Anybody remember when the Pontiac Aztec was considered by some to be the ugliest car in the world? Now several models look very similar.
I would have sworn I saw a Checker station wagon the other day. It turned out to be a new Ford!

The point? I'd say conversation is the point

Now I don't know about ugly grills, but I have to say I am not fond of those cars they call The Cube.. looks kind of like a baby shoe.

Thank NHTSA Joan Clabrook et al.
We have energy adsorbing mostrosities at each end of our vehicles now.
It was going to be worse and may get there. Swedes wanted something that looked like an additional 2 ft or so of foam pillow or some such.
The rear ends are well... ugly. They re all flat, more or less, and up higher than the front end with an optically centered ugly licensce plate, in the middle. The theory being if everybody gets hit in the rear the hitter will slide under the hitee and everybody is photo presentable to traffic and spy cameras. What they have done to Corvette design is hideous on the rear end. Our little car has scoops and screens, almost to the road, in this, fat flat front end and rear brick look, fetish. Last was even worse both vacuum every ant and cigarette butt from the road at speed. Give a 69 Camaro, 68 Dodge Charger, and a long list of good looking and sleek automobiles. I almost got into a Hundae the other day. It looked almost like a Merc or a number of others. All the pseudo cross over SUVs are carved from a single brick with various hang ons and bumper lumps grafted on. They all look like the same kid drew them.
