I had a '61 Rambleer Ambassador. The car had been one that was assigned to George Romney when he was president of AMC. I saw one of the campagin ads showing Mitt Romney sitting in that car. The front was ugly but it sure was loaded with more than the ones in the book.

Some new Audis. Mazdas, and others have gaping maws for grills - they look like bottom feeders. And what about the current trend for cars that look like someone sat on them - the new Mini Coupe, the Land Rover Evoque, the hideous new Lamborghini SUV: SQUISHED!

Every Super Duty and Econoline after 2007 has been hideous...with Ford's weird alien-fish front end. The newest trucks are less hideous, but still pretty bad.
The main reason for the changes on the Fords was to lower the headlights. Some states are very particular on how high the headlights can be. They meet the standard from the factory, but some people lift their truck which causes issues.
IMO, the ugliest current car - front, back, side, all around - is the Ford Flex. It has a lot of competition out there, but I hate that one the most. Oh, how I miss the days when cars had style and interest.
How fast (air speed) does a vehicle have to be going before aerodynamics is truly a consideration? Sure, I suppose 70 MPH into a 25 MPH wind might be problematic, but how often does that happen, really?
It is like the helmets bicyclists wear. Does that "teardrop" shape do anything other than look silly? If so, why aren't motorcycle helmets made the same? After all, a motorcyclist is going up to three times as fast as a bicyclist!
The same goes for the skintight spandex suits the cyclists wear. Is there REALLY a noticeable reduction in wind drag at 30 mph, or do they just think such suits look good?
The other day, I thought I saw an classic Checker station wagon. It turned out to be a new Ford! What WERE they thinking when they designed THAT thing!
